Doula comes from an ancient Greek word meaning "to serve"—and, in the spirit of this outreach, the word now refers to a woman who is a professional labor assistant and advocate for mother and baby. As a doula, Angela Garvin helps families create peaceful, loving birth experiences by providing support and information before, during and after the birth. Angela acts as an advocate for families, helping them to have the birth experience they desire.
